Growth happens right after you feel like it’s pointless to continue.
The raw reality of doing anything meaningful is that it’s going to take time.
This graphic lives in my head rent free, but it’s a reminder that what we’re building and working toward takes time.
When we shift our mindset from focusing on the short term to making decisions with the long term in mind, it changes how we act in the present.
The reason most people quit building something meaningful is because, in truth, it’s hard. It’s hard putting in the reps, showing up every day without any validation that your work actually matters. The harsh truth is we often quit because we’re looking for that signal—we think success is going to be instant. But sadly, that’s not reality.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV) reminds us, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
I’ve had the privilege of working with several successful entrepreneurs. When asked how they make tough decisions about their companies, they’d say something like, “Sure, it hurt, but it was necessary. I’m in it for the long run.”
So this is a reminder that you’re not gonna make it if you expect it to be easy, and you’re not gonna make it if you expect to see a payoff in the short term.
Play the long game and stay consistent. You’ve got this.
