The Truth That Stops Us Before We Start
Most people aren’t stuck because they don’t know what to do.
They’re stuck because they won’t do what they already know.
And I get it. I’ve been there.
We tell ourselves we’re not ready. That we need one more podcast, one more book, one more certification. But that voice?
That’s not preparation… that’s procrastination dressed up like productivity.
How I Accidentally Built a Business
A few years ago, I was deep in the trenches of learning social media. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook - I was testing everything I learned on my own pages.
I wasn’t selling anything really (had a free e-book teaching what I was learning).
I didn’t have a service.
I was just experimenting and applying.
Then one day, a business coach on Instagram messaged me. He asked if I had something to offer - a service, a package, anything. I didn’t.
At that point, I had around 10,000 followers on Instagram, and he said something I’ll never forget:
“You’ve already done this for yourself. Could you do it again for someone else?”
That question changed everything. He saw potential in what I had already built. I became his first client - and later, he became mine.
Just like that, I was in business.
You Don’t Feel Ready Because You’re Growing
I wasn’t mentally ready.
I didn’t feel like a marketer or a coach.
But I was one.
Most people are more ready than they realize.
We hide behind the idea that we need more information… but what we really need is the courage to move forward despite uncertainty.

The Hidden Form of Procrastination
The other day, a coworker mentioned a marketing manager she had just met.
She didn’t understand how the woman landed the role. Her tone was skeptical… picking apart the way she spoke, the questions she asked, the gaps in her knowledge.
At first, I brushed it off. But then I realized something: That same doubt? I’ve heard it in my own head.
We question people when they don’t meet our expectations… or when they reflect something we’re afraid of in ourselves.
And here’s what that moment reminded me of:
You don’t have to know everything to start. You just have to be willing to grow into it.
That manager might not have known every answer. But she was in the room. She got the opportunity.
She acted on something most people just think about.
It made me realize: maybe I’ve been more qualified than I’ve given myself credit for.
And maybe you are too.
Sometimes the difference between where you are and where you want to be… is simply the willingness to apply what you already know.
Learn. Apply. Teach.
I found Dan Koe on Instagram a couple years ago. One thing he said stuck with me:
“One of the best ways to learn is to teach.”
That line opened my eyes. Because it wasn’t just about studying anymore… it was about building. About trying. About putting things into the world before you think you’re ready.
So now, I’ve adopted this path: Build it for yourself. Then offer it to others.
If you’re unsure where to start, pick something you’re curious about… and start creating around it.
“If you want to master something, teach it.” - Yogi Bhajan
Action Builds Confidence
Alex Hormozi said it best:
“Self-confidence is built by stacking undeniable proof that you are who you say you are.”
You don’t need to claim to be something you’re not.
But you can become it through consistent action.
Everyone deals with imposter syndrome. Not because they’re frauds… but because they’re trying to grow into something bigger than they are now.
To stretch into something new is to feel unqualified. That’s not a flaw. That’s growth.
You don’t need another online course.
You don’t need another guru.
You don’t need to wait.
You already know enough.
Now it’s time to move.
I am definitely saving this for future reference. What really sticks with me is the fact that we will never feel totally ready - we won't ever know everything - and yet doing it anyway is the best way to actually prepare ourselves. I've been loving reading your posts, so thank you!
